Trzciniec Zgorzelecki jako ostatni posterunek w okolicy opierał się modernizacjom. Ok. ~2008-2009 roku Ręczyn został zlikwidowany (zdalne sterowanie z Krzewiny), a w samej Krzewinie oprócz sygnalizacji świetlnej uproszczono układ torowy oraz wyburzono nastawnię wykonawczą. W Trzcińcu czas się zatrzymał, mimo iż miał podzielić losy Ręczyna podczas modernizacji Krzewiny. Podobnież w związku z kradzieżami i dewastacją urządzeń w okolicy zaniechano przebudowy posterunku, jednakże jak widać pod koniec 2016 roku ruszyły prace modernizacyjne. Sygnalizatory świetlne już stoją... Wiatr modernizacji wieje także po niemieckiej stronie, prace rozpoczęto także w Zittau, więc kto chętny i może, musi się spieszyć z dokumentacją.
Na zdjęciu widzimy luzaka zmierzającego do Turoszowa po skład pociągu prawdopodobnie w kierunku Zawidowa. W firmie czas to pieniądz, gdyż maszyna minęła semafor z prędkością dużo wyższą niż 40km/h (przy czasie naświetlania 1/200s lokomotywa dość znacznie się rozmazała), a dzięki ekspresowej "próbie hamulca" pociąg powrotny minął posterunek już po 30 minutach od wykonania widocznego zdjęcia.
